Our Daycare and Kindergarten are ministries of First Baptist Church. We, as early childhood professionals, set our goal not to simply be a substitute for parental care, but to be a partner team with parents to provide the best environment possible for your child. Research has shown that the business of children is play; therefore, children learn primarily through play and activity—they need play to learn. We strive to provide a great variety of learning experiences for the children in our care. Although we understand the value of cognitive learning, we at First Baptist Preschool place a high value on the spiritual, social, emotional, and physical development for our children.
First Baptist Preschool’s mission is to provide innovative and creative programs that encourage children, families, and staff members to work closely together in all areas of the preschool experience so that each may strive to be their very best, and all to the glory of our Lord, Jesus Christ.
We believe that each child is unique and special; that each on is endowed with his own individual dignity, which should be nurtured and developed as one with the body, mind, and spirit. The support of a caring and intimate environment allows each child to develop self-confidence. We are committed to helping children develop their identity by recognizing different learning styles and temperaments, by challenging and encouraging, and by working together as a team with parents and/or guardians.
An Enrollment Application Form for each child completed with all required signatures is required. A certificate of Immunization Compliance (Form #121) is required before entering and each time immunizations are given. This form must be kept up-to-date.
To enter Daycare 1 a child must be at least 16 months old and able to walk on his/her own with the teacher down the preschool hallway.
To enter Daycare II a child must be two years old on or before September 1 of the year entering.
To enter Kindergarten a child must be three, four, or five years old on or before September 1 of the year entering and completely potty trained. There will be no exceptions to this policy.
A waiting list is started when classes become full. Call us at 601-736-4914 to find out about fees and space availability.
