DISCOVERING THE WONDERS THROUGH SUNDAY SCHOOL:
Sunday School is provided for all children birth-sixth grade. Sunday School begins each Sunday morning at 9:45 a.m. Preschoolers learn more about Jesus, God, nature, family and church. Children enjoy games and other activities to help them learn more about Christ and how to live for Him. All preschoolers and children will find warm and loving teachers waiting to tell them more about the love of Jesus and help them to discover the wonders of God’s Word.
The PATHFINDER is a monthly publication provided for children in 1st-6th grade. These publications provide verses from Sunday school for children to memorize, activity pages that review each Sunday School lesson through that month, and questions to help kids learn through the use of Bible Bookmarks. Pathfinder Jr. is provided for children in 1st-4th grade and Pathfinder Sr. is provided for children in 5th-6th grades.
BIBLE BOOKMARKS are handed out weekly through Sunday School. Each Bookmark has a main topic and daily verses that go along with that topic. Bible Bookmarks are used to encourage children to be in God’s Word daily. There are questions for certain days of each bookmark to answer in the Pathfinders.
BIBLE BUCKS are “bucks” children earn through Sunday School. These “bucks” are earned through work done in the Pathfinder, by bringing their Bible to Sunday school, bringing a friend, and through other activities. Bible Bucks are spent at the Bible Bucks Store that is opened periodically through the year. Children can buy candy, toys, and other items at the Bible Bucks Store.

EXTENDED SESSION is provided for preschoolers birth-three-year-olds during the Worship Service. Parents can attend the Worship Service knowing that their child is being taken care of in a safe and loving environment. Parents can also be sure that they can be quickly contacted in case of emergency using our pager security system which works throughout the building!

BIBLE BUDDIES/BIBLE DRILLS help children learn Bible verses, Bible books in order, key passages, and other Bible skills. Bible Buddies is for children in 1st-3rd grade. Bible Drills is for children in 4th-6th grades. These groups meet in the spring on Sunday evenings at 5:00 p.m.

HIS KIDS is a one day afterschool program provided for children in 1st-6th grade. Children come to the church after school and have a snack, have time to complete homework, have playtime, and eat supper. His Kids ends at 5:15 p.m. when our regular Wednesday night programs begin. His Kids is designed to help relieve parents of trying to get their kids to finish homework, feed them supper, and get them to church all in one afternoon. The cost for His Kids is $2.00 per child and another $3.00 per child if they eat supper. Transportation to the church is provided. We follow the City School schedule for days off.

GA’S/RA’S/MISSION FRIENDS are the three children’s mission organizations offered each Wednesday evening beginning at 5:15 p.m. GA stands for Girls in Action. RA stands for Royal Ambassadors. GA’s and RA’s are for girls and boys in 1st-6th grades. Mission Friends is for boys and girls ages 3-K5. Through these classes, children learn about missionaries and their work. They also learn about the different countries that are being served by missionaries. Children are also given opportunities to participate in mission projects here at the church, in our community, and through special activities for missionaries around the world.
CHILDREN’S CHOIRS is offered each Wednesday night following the mission’s organizations. Children learn music in different age-graded choirs. Children are given opportunities to perform their music in church at different times as well as a year-end children’s choir spectacular where all three choirs perform.

SUMMER WEDNESDAY NIGHTS are special nights at First Baptist Church. Beginning the last Wednesday in May and running through to the last Wednesday in August, children are involved in special Bible study times. These Bible studies are designed to be age-specific and are to be more laid back and fun than other Bible studies offered. The Bible study begins at 5:45 p.m. each Wednesday night through the summer.
