As iron sharpens iron, so one man sharpens another.

Proverbs 27:17

It is our desire to help adults of all ages to live lives that are fully devoted to Christ.  We want to support and equip adults to live out God’s Word as they seek God and serve people.  We want to help them to honor God with their lives and make a difference for Him.   Our adult ministries range from those in college to senior adults.  We offer small group Bible studies each Sunday morning for college and career, parents of young families, empty nesters, and senior adults.  These groups enjoy times of fellowship with their small groups through their Bible study times as well as planned events off campus.

Adult 1 Department includes the college and career and the young married couples.   Everyone meets together at the start of the class time and then split into groups.  The College and Career class is led by Parker Dungan.  The Young Married class is led by Taylor Fortenberry.

Adult 2 Department is made up mostly of young couples with preschool and grade-school children.  However, there are a few single men and women scattered throughout the class.  Anyone is welcomed to come and hear God’s Word.  The class is led by Lisa Jones with Jay Rayborn as an assistant teacher.

Adult 3 Department is known as Family Matters.  The class is for parents of preteens and teenagers from middle school to those early in college.  The class focuses on building relationships, topical studies, and class discussions about Biblical principles.  This class is led by Scott Davis.
Adult 4 Department is known as the Empty-Nesters.  This class is typically for those in their mid-40’s to their mid-60’s.  This class meets as small groups on the first and third Sunday of each month and meets as a large group on the second, fourth, and fifth Sundays.  Small groups consist of a women’s class led by Carolyn Sanson and Robin Sanderson, a men’s class led by Baxter White, Jr., and a couple’s class led by Bruce Ratcliff.

Adult 5 Department is made up of three classes.  The Ladies Class is called the Seekers.  This is a group of senior women who seek to study God’s Word, grow spiritually, and meet the needs of others.  This class is led by Kit Marable and Kay Newsom.  There are two couple’s classes.  The first couple’s class is led by Bill Pachmayr with Paul Pounds as his assistant.  This class is for anyone seeking a deep study of God’s Word through the use of the regular Sunday school curriculum and through specific Bible book studies.  The other couple’s class is led by Richard and Jane Davis.  This class seeks to study God’s Word each Sunday and find ways to fellowship with each other outside of church times.

Adult 6 Department is made up of Senior adults—both singles and couples.  This department starts with an opening assembly at 9:45 a.m. and then moves into small groups.  These small groups are committed to growing closer to God through Bible study, prayer, and missions.  There are two men’s class and two ladies’ classes.  The men’s classes are led by Dr. Billy Sanson and Erik LaVine.   The ladie‘s classes are led by Gloria Thurman and by Beverly Swann/Shelia Simon.
